Treasurer - Erik Adriaanse
Erik Adriaanse became General Manager of the Independent Property Group in April 2006 after having been Business Development Director for RSM Bird Cameron Chartered Accountants in Canberra.
He brought to Independent a wealth of financial, investment, managerial and advocacy experience. This has enabled him to assist in transforming the major sections of the company and improving the quality of its service delivery - thereby facilitating increased growth.
A qualified Fellow Certified Practising Accountant and a Financial Planning Specialist, Eric was until recently President of CPA Australia (ACT) and a Divisional Council member. He has had thirty years in the accounting profession and twenty years as a principal in private practice. He is also a qualified financial planner and was a registered tax agent and registered company auditor. Eric has also been a director and Board member of Service One Members Banking since 2004.
Erik has had extensive community involvement, by being a Board Member of The Legacy Club of Canberra Incorporated, Snowy Hydro SouthCare Rescue Helicopter Service, The Cultural Facilities Corporation, The Australian Council of Professions, The Centre for Dialogue Steering Committee and a number of other charitable organisations and taskforces.
He has had extensive involvement with the Canberra and Sydney offshore sailing community and represented Australia in sailing on six occasions, as well as having completed eighteen Sydney to Hobart yacht races - winning three times. He has also climbed Mt Kilimanjaro and has scaled Mt Everest to a height of 6,500 metres.

Councillor - Michelle Sanford
Michelle is passionate and focused on a career in property. She started her career in real estate in 2004 and joined Defence Housing Australia in 2010. She quickly learnt the value of training and completed a Diploma of Property, Interior Residential Design and Management. These skills have provided her with the tools to strive in her profession. Michelle joined the REIACT Council in February 2010 and established the Young Practitioners Chapter in March 2010. Michelle is currently studying a Bachelor of Business and Commerce (Property) and planning a long and successful career in property.
