MEDIA INTERVIEW: REIACT CEO MARIA EDWARDS ON ACT GOVERNMENT’S NEW TEAM TO OVERSEE BUILDING CERTIFIERS
On the ACT government’s plan to introduce a team to oversee building certifiers:
REIACT CEO Maria Edwards in an interview with ABC Canberra indicated that more information is needed to see how this new reform will be implemented. She said that while having oversight on building certifiers could help protect buyers in the ACT, the government should also ensure that this will not result in unnecessary delays and added costs for builders which will increase prices for consumers and threaten ongoing supply of homes in the ACT.
