As with any Government policy, it will take time before we see outcomes, but being informed and ready to have the conversation with clients is the best place to start. The ACT market has some potential advantages moving forward – with less dramatic recent price swings than other states, a focus on building the city through missing middle initiatives and relatively high yields for investors – how our industry proactively responds locally could make all the difference.

2026 REIACT Auctioneering Championships novice finalist Alan Tongue joined Mix 106.3’s The Real Estate Show to discuss his experience competing alongside the ACT’s up and coming auctioneers. He also shared insights into the state competition process and how he is preparing with the rest of the ACT team as they represent the Territory at the national championships in Melbourne next week.

Following the 2026 REIACT AGM held on 7th May, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Wilson as the new REIACT President, and Chris Antos as REIACT Deputy President.

The Institute also extends a warm welcome to Richard Davies, who joins the Board as an Ordinary Director for the first time.

We also wish to acknowledge and sincerely thank outgoing President Hannah Gill for her outstanding leadership and commitment to REIACT throughout 2020 – 2026, including her role as Board Director since 2017.
