The Tenants’ Union ACT is a not for profit community legal centre offering free services for people renting their homes in the ACT. Tenants’ Union ACT assist tenants in private residential as well as community housing properties and residents in other forms of accommodation such as campus residences, boarding and lodging properties and caravan parks.
Tenants’ Union ACT provide free tenancy advice, advocacy and referrals as well as information, presentations and training.
The ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal oversees various consumer and regulatory bodies, such as the Commissioner for Fair Trading (when acting as a tribunal in relation to motor vehicle dealers, tobacco and finance brokers), the Constructions Occupations Registrar (when acting as a tribunal in relation to construction occupations) and the Chief Surveyor (when acting as a tribunal in relation to surveyors).
